Yeah...words for medical distinctions are better when derived from roots that link to the actual biology of the medical distinction rather than to a cultural/ethnic/race or other group, especially if that group isn't proud to claim the connection.

In addition, all dictionaries should provide BIG CAUTION as to the offensive nature of this word and discourage ANY use of this word instead of literally translating mongoloid=down syndrome. To be fair, this syndrome has NOTHING to do with Mongolia and its people.
