Chaining or tethering is inhumane. Dogs should not be force to live like a prisoner chained at the neck. They have to eat, sleep, urinate and defecate in a single area. Dogs are social animals craving love, respect and most of all acknowledgement.  A dog kept chained in one spot for hours, days, months or even years suffers immense psychological damage.  They also suffer from sporadic feedings, overturned water bowls and are subjected to extreme weather conditions. During snow storms dogs will stay wet for days in freezing temperatures with no hope for warmth. During extreme heat, they are left to suffer in the sun and may not receive adequate water. Chained or tethered dogs may become "part of the scenery" and can be easily ignored by their owners.  Would you for one second choose to live the life of these dogs? No matter what reason is given, it is NOT okay to chain a dog for life.
