The music group Pussy Riot has just been convicted of hooliganism motivated by religious hatred by a court in Russia. In fact their protest was not an attack on the Orthodox church as has been alleged, but rather an open public protest against the totalitarian state under Vladimir Putin's control. Free these protestors now and recognise the democratic right of Russian citizens to peaceful protest.
