I am concerned about the newly-minted health and education standards released by the Washington Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction. Children should be learning to how to read and do math, and health related issues taught by their parents.

The subject of gender and sexual identity in kindergarten/grade school is NOT age-appropriate. This should be taught in Junior High or High School. I know many families who are outraged over this. These families plan to take their kids out of public school and home school them. Is this the outcome you want?

This is crazy. A man is a man and a woman is a woman. Randy Dorn, I can't believe you are falling for this. I remember when you were a student teacher in my high school in Buckley, you were a man's man coaching football. This is a sad day for Washington.

Please do not allow this. It is inappropriate and should be taught in the home if felt appropriate

My grandchildren will NOT participate in this curriculum, even if it means they fail that quarter(etc) or we will homeschool if need be. Outrageous that for a few others choices we make everyone give consent. Not happening. I am a Christian and so maybe we should legislate that everyone pray to God and read the Bible (including our precious children) because I and others believe it is right. What happens with accepting that!!! Who is judging who these days? You and noone else.

I absolutely do NOT support this change in mandatory curriculum and especially the underhanded way it was implemented without any parent notification.

This standard is not acceptable as a requirement to be taught at any age. The majority of the kids in grades K-12 will end up being heterosexual individuals. If this becomes the standard in public schools, you are guaranteed to have a large portion of the student population become home schooled. Please stop this now before it goes any further.

Parents should decide when to teach kids about gender identity and schools responsibility to teach kids to read and write.

I am not for the newly minted health & education standards. We the parents must have a voice in what our children are being taught!

This is not something that should be taught in Public Schools especially in Kindergarten and elementary.

Reading, writing, math, p.e., art, not creating the stress of sexual confusion and destroying our children's innocence!

Please allow values concerning gender to be taught at home.

It is not the job of the government to educate my children on sex or gender related issues. That is my job, the parent. Nor is it the governments job to decide for my children the values that they will be taught. The schools JOB is to teach reading, writing, math, history (social studies), & science, music & the arts. The end! My children will not be exposed to an agenda that goes against our families values and beliefs. As a teacher in the public schools, I will not teach religious or political agendas.

I cannot believe this is even being considered. It is rediculous and misguided and not an issue that needs to be addressed in the classroom in either direction.. This should never be taught, especially to elementary kids!

I am TOTALLY against anyone teaching ANY child that they are different then the way God made them. God does NOT make mistakes. People DO. GOD HELP US!

We do grave harm to our children by teaching them boys can be girls and vice versa. Ask the surgeons at Johns-Hopkins. What we need to stop teaching is that "liking pink makes you a girl" and "liking cars makes you a boy." No child (or adult) should ever have to feel the need to mutilate themselves to fit in with society's expectations.
