DO NOT teach my children a very subjective topic that should be left to parents to decide whether it is appropriate or not!!!!!!!

It is in our own time and way that we should be choosing to educate our young children on the topic of gender identity and any other matter pertaining to sex education. A parent signature should be required for any class or lesson being taught that could lead to questions and possible confusion for our little ones.

We should have the option to op out. I also should have a right to not have things pushed on me that I don't believe in ( our children ).

I absolutely do not agree or support this change in curriculum. We need to speak out and retain our rights as parents to decide how our children will learn about these issues. They will learn about it simply because they are alive in this world. But it is not the place of public education to decide when and how, that is our right as parents.

This is REDICULOUS! Never will someone teach my children this garbage! Bring back God in the schools! You take away that and add this??

I strongly disagree with these "health and education standards." I will pull my child out of school rather than be indoctrinated with this information that goes against my religious values.

There is no way a 5 year old is emotionally or psychology mature enough to conceptually understand or deal with this subject matter. What are you thinking?

Focus on learning basics. These personal things should be private and taught in home, or when they're older

I was taught the gender of an organism is discernible by it's reproductive role. I can understand not wanting to be in the body I have. I would love to have "better" body parts. I have listened to a woman say how she believed she was supposed to be a cat. I believe she feels as strongly about this as does the young man who feels he should have been a woman. But there is verifiable scientific proof that she does not have feline DNA, nor does he have XX chromosomes. I am concerned where this will lead. When my daughter was in school all students were treated like no one was a loser. The sentiment is sweet. I wish it were true. But many people are outstanding in areas I flat out suck at. Should everyone treat me like I do not suck where I do? Why? Instead can we be patient and loving to everyone. Yet warn those who are out of line, encourage those with a smaller capacity or lower ceiling, and help those who are weak. But please let us do this all in truth. A boy cannot decide he is a girl. His DNA decided for him. Is it not kinder and more loving to help him before he is too habituated in thought and deed? Instead of manipulating the truth until he surgically and hormonally manipulates his body? Please. They are children. We are to teach, direct and protect them and raise them to be wise, courageous, hard working, loving, moral, sacrificial, men and women who know why they are here on Earth and they contribute and carry out there mission happily.

Sexual orientation, expression, identity etc should not be taught in the school at all! Parents should teach their kids in the home according to their values and morals. Schools should teach "be respectful to everyone" and that is all.

I DO NOT agree with this education 'agenda'. This is not appropriate for young children. Keep politics out of the schools!

The new curriculum is ridiculous. Teaching kids about HIV PROTECTION in the graphic ways they do in the US is not appropriate for 10yr old fourth graders. The idea that many students will have to lose their beliefs to pass a class proves that America has gone rogue. By trying to create "equality" they are rather influencing children with these beliefs that they shouldn't be exposed to AT ALL in a public school. These things should be learned after high school when children are able to finally make their own decisions surely and not based on education from previous years. We will begin losing our freedoms of speech and freedom to believe what we please if this is forced upon our kids. Everyday America becomes less of a free country and THIS is where I draw the line.

this is wrong and should not be allowed to be done if anyone wants it then it should be left up to the parents not the schoo.

Leave that issue to the parents and do not force it on young children to push your agenda!!

Do not teach gender issues in our public school. Specifically not elementary or kindergarten. Anything taught would be opinionated and not fact and is not appropriate in this setting.

I oppose this ridiculous addition to the curriculum. Are parents not responsible to teach anything in the home anymore? Waste of my tax dollars!

The American Pediatric Society just released an interesting article that this type of education should be considered abuse. Aside from that... this goes against the teaching of biology and could be deemed religious indoctrination. sex is determined by biological chromosomes and hormonal expression. Gender is a sociological implication. Schools do not go against the teaching of biology, that was the argument that removed creationism from the schools. There is no scientific evidence for gender and sexual identity being a fluid thing.

So against this new agenda. Parents need to be brought back into approving what is going to be taught...
