I think this information should not be taught in schools. I am not a homophobic or have any issues with transgender, but working with children for many years I know many children boys who love pink, art, playing with dolls but that doesn't make them cross gender oriented. It makes them great fathers, great artists etc. I know many "Tom Girls" but that doesn't necessarily make them any less of a female. And while it is true that some may prefer to choose a sexual preference of another body type most don't. To tell a person what to think about their lives is damaging and confusing and it is difficult enough for someone old enough to understand their bodies and puberty but at 4-6 years old it is just mind manipulation. I think we should let children be who they are and go with their strengths and not have that anything to do with their sexuality at 4 years old, at 14 years old, at 20 years old, or even at 60 years old. They can decide who they are and who they want to be without hint or evaluation by anyone else.

I am greatly opposed to this teaching of students. Let alone grade school students.

This is not an age appropriate subject for schools and is something that should be left for the parents to talk about.

I do not support the schools decision on this sexual identity curriculum. That is for parents to teach their kids if they choose to, not the schools.

As a parent of a special needs child this is not appropriate to be taught in grade school. You have no idea what problems this can cause for a child like mine. This is something for family not public instruction in grade school.

No way is my kid learning about these types of things in school. It is not the place of teachers to instill these beliefs in my children. School is for learning math and reading and writing and history, etc. NOT to promote ideas about sexuality, race, gender identity, etc.

I believe parents need to be informed by their district about these standards so they can opt out. I also believe teachers should not be forced to teach them.

5 year olds are too young to be taught about this kind of stuff. Parents should be able to talk to their children about this when it is age appropriate. The schools should stay out of this.

I'm a retired educator. It's a good thing I'm no longer teaching because I would not under any circumstances teach this false belief.
