The site known as Peruvian Wharf is a large site with a Thames frontage, North Woolwich Road frontage, and is flanked by industries (including Nuplex Resin, and John Knights) on either side. The current two applications relate to the front part of the site (adjacent to the Thames) on the part of the site which is subject to a wharf safeguarding. The remainder of the site (fronting North Woolwich Road) is presently vacant, and does not form part of either of the current applications. The applications are for an Aggregates site or a recycling site, both very industrial and not in keeping with the current regeneration.
