Students should be permitted to have purses in the classrooms as long as they are not disruptive from their learning process. Purses and bags sometimes carry important personal items or school-related items that are easier carried in purses rather than pockets or binders. Not to say if a student is using a purse in manner that causes disruption to their learning environment or the learning environment of other students, that a teacher could not confiscate said bag. Although it is reasonable for a teacher to do so if it becomes disruptive but if the student has their purse on the floor, or back of chair, it should be permitted.
