By adding your name, branch of service or comment to this petition, you are affirming our demand that Congressman Steven Cohen of the Great State of Tennessee, offer his sincere apology to the past and present members of the Armed Forces of the United States, for suggesting that FBI Agent Peter Strzok is deserving of a Purple Heart. Mr Strzok has done nothing do deserve such a significant commendation.

The Purple Heart is awarded in the name of the President of the United States to any member of the Armed Forces of the United States who, while serving under competent authority in any capacity with one of the U.S. Armed Services after April 5, 1917, has been wounded or killed.

By his declaration before members of Congress and the American people, Mr Cohen has brought disgrace upon himself, those members of Congress who support his declaration and has diminished the relevance of the Purple Heart to all members of the Armed Forces, especially those who by virtue of their wounding or death, have been so honored.

We, the undersigned, demand that Mr Cohen offer an immediate and sincere public apology to all members of Congress, to all Congressional staff, to all invited guests present at the time of his declaration and to all others, who by virtue of the televised broadcast, witnessed his disgraceful conduct and declaration
