Punish zoo Copenhagen or Killing Giraffe Marius! We want a law to prevent this happening again! There where options for rehoming!

When people take the lives of others in their hands and make it their responsibility, they should be held ACCOUNTABLE and RESPONSIBLE for the life and WELL BEING of these animals. Animals love their children, want to live, feel love, joy, sorrow, loneliness, and PAIN just as us. It is NOT ok for anyone to be able to abuse, murder, or mutilate a fellow sentient being simply because they claim ownership of them. This is wrong and it is time to EVOLVE.

You murdered an INNOCENT BABY in COLD BLOOD!! Not only should you NEVER be allowed near animals for the rest of your life, you and the people of your zoo should all be locked away in prison for the MURDERERS and MUTILATORS that you are. And to sadistically mutilate this precious child’s corpse like some disturbed sick adolecent in severe need of help, or like that of a serial killer such as Jack the Ripper, and find a means to PROFIT off of your demonic display by inviting other children (much like the child you murdered and mutilated) to come and watch… and you have the AUDACITY and the mind; more like lack there of, to call it “education”?!?! No child needs to learn about the insides of a giraffe!!! And besides the FACT that the anatomy of a non-human animal is INAPPLICABLE to human anatomy, the only thing you taught these children is to be CRUEL, BARBARIC, NEANDERTHAL monsters such as yourself. Even if in some far away universe this could be thought of as “education” (which it is NOT), MURDER and neanderthal BUTCHERY is NOT an acceptable means of “education”. Once again, the only “education” you provided is “how to be a monster”. You should not only be kept away from all animals for the rest of your sick life, you should be kept away from children. Furthermore, these children should be taken from the parents who subjected them to this atrocious slaughter and mutilating display, as well as kept away from and protected from MONSTERS LIKE YOU.

There is ABSOLUTELY no justification for killing a perfectly healthy animal. As a vegan, as an animal, I feel sick to my stomach. They should be ashamed.

You let children watch you mutilate an innocent victim's body and had the mind; or lack there of, to call it "educational". Mutilating a murdered baby or any murdered animal, teaches only cruelty, barbarity, and to be less evolved to the extent of the Neanderthal you and the people of your zoo, are. Castration and shipment to the other zoo who wanted him would have been the solution to the issue of inbreeding. Outrageous arrogance and unnecessary public display of barbarism!

i think it is really bad that this youn girrafe was killed. i think the zoo should be shut down! it concerns me that they could be doing other bad things to their animals who are still living with in the zoo. many people signed petitions to stop the giraffe getting killed, and other zoos offered to take the giraffe in! as an animal lover, this breaks my heart and i think something should be done about this!

This was unconscionable! There were other zoos willing to take him and sterilization was an option. Clearly brutal animal abuse.

Bengt Holst, Copenhagen Zoo's scientific director, who took the decision to have Marius, the baby giraffe, killed must be fired immedeately along with the vet who killed Marius with a bolt-gun after luring poor trusting Marius toward him with rye bread, Marius' favorite treat! Totally disgusting! The management at the zoo has to held accountable for these inhumane actions toward an animal under their care!
