This rule is ludicrous.

Great idea! Half the punishments for school are ridiculous. Schools go way out of their way to make kids miserable when some of the kids do not know why they are in trouble

Punishing a young child, who has no way to correct tardiness, is beyond the pale. Perhaps the school district should work with the parent to find a solution. This era of check boxes and rote behavior ought to stop. You are punishing a child because his or her parent (often single, working, low wage) has had at least 3 instances of delivering the child to school, tardy. While check boxes are of value for data miners, they generally do not solve problems and you should find a reasonable solution to the egregious behavior of punishing a child for a parent’s failure.

Punishing a small child for reasons beyond their control is completely counter-productive and ridiculous. I understand enforcing attendance rules, but it should be done in an effective way that doesn't interfere with the child's comfort and happiness in their learning environment, especially when they do not have the ability to prevent future occurrences or even understand why they're being punished. This policy needs a serious review.

I think this punishment of children who have no control over their punctuality to school is nonsense. Older children who are responsible for getting themselves to school? Absolutely. But elementary children? Absolutely not.

Children can't control their parents tardiness. It's common sense.

This is absolutely repugnant. Anyone enforcing this rule should be shamed of themselves.

This in no way helps anyone and in every way hinders the child

I am opposed to Kindergartners being punished in this fashion, for being late, 5 year old children do not even understand why they are being punished , nor do I believe this is of any good for the child or the school.

I fully agree my son has been tardy multiple because his other "parents " were to lazy to get up and take him.. and now my son is being punished for something he has no control over. That is rridiculous.

Age appropriate punishment is completely necessary. If a child is late because of their parents, blame the PARENT, not the child!

Arbitrary rules like punishing a child for his parents arriving late to school don't help the child to understand consequences if it is beyond his control? It only makes the child resentful, scared, and angry toward his parent and the school.

Punishing children who are dropped off by their parents? Really? What kind of asinine rule is this?

Don’t punish the kids for things they have ZERO control over!
