It should not be against the Ga law because if its dangerous to stomp in the stands and our cheerleaders have to stand on the court it all makes sense that it is more dangerous on the court than in the stands because they have more of a chance of getting hit with a basketball or the players Than falling in the stands!!!

As a former Basketball Cheer coach I can honestly say there is something entertaining and athletic that happens at Basketball games. Girls are required to demonstrate rhythm, skill, talent, and school spirit while in one of the most tense and enclosed spaces. Often girls who have not been trained in gymnastics or dance benefit from the different expressions of basketball cheer. There were years when people would tell us, "we love the team but we know we will always see something amazing with the cheerleaders". I understand the logistics and the idea that dangerous situations may occur in the stands but I can guarantee that there are more injuries that occur from stunts on the football field than have ever occurred stomping in the stands. If this cannot be overturned I do hope that coaches and athletic directors will make allowances to at least allow for halftime performances and for spaces to be made so that the girls can continue to do their cheers (while stomping and stepping) on the floor/ground levels. The girls love it, the fans love it, and the teams love it. Please reconsider or at least offer another option or outlet for the girls to express themselves in the unique way that basketball cheer permits.

Stomping is one of the best parts about basketball cheer , it is what seperates football cheer from basketball cheer . Taking that away is just as bad as taking the whole program away .

I think that taking the stomping in the stands out of basketball cheer is unfair. It will take out the fun and excitement in the game. The fans love it, the cheerleaders love it, and most importantly the basketball players love it!!

I feel that it is not right that cheerleaders can not stomp in the stands. At Atco High it helps our players and it gets out crowd involved & everyone loves our cheers that deals with stomps.

There is no reason that we should not be able to stomp on the bleachers. We've been doing it for years now. Since one person falls and gets hurt we gotta stop basically because they were too clumsy. That's them.

As a cheerleader I disagree with this because we need to be able to do this in order to get the crowd involved.

This rule takes away one of the best parts of basketball cheer. Coffee county is known for our basketball cheers and I would be sad to see that go away.

If stomping in the stands is a distraction then why do we even have cheerleaders anyway?
