Mr. Shrager, I've admired much of what you're built and created in Manhattan. In fact, I own a building on 2nd Street and I walk down Bond Street daily and admire your building nearby but having seen the signage on your new venture, as a fellow landowner, I ask you to please privatize your PUBLIC sign by putting out it's lights and respecting the wishes of many of your neighbors, including me. First Mr. Schrader tears down the green space ,the section 8 tenants was enjoying , to build this hotel and now this shining sign is annoying tenants uptown and downtown.

This neighborhood is home to communities and residents long before this hotel appeared. Commerce in the area occurs at street level and does not seek to fill the skyline with brash advertising that is not appropriate here. Kindly reconsider your environment with respect for those whose call this neighborhood - home.

Your sign is not PUBLIC art nor does it contribute to the PUBLIC good. Turn off the lights! Save the planet, dude.

Please be sensitive to your neighbors and remove the sign.

This sets a bad trend for lower Manhattan and our neighborhoods. It's not tokyo

Please remove these lights or at least make them a pretty color that is dimmer and more atmospheric. Feels like the light a the ER entrance to a hospital.

It was bad enough that the 10 Stanton Street tenants were forced into a Sophie's choice of loosing their affordable apartments or your towering hotel. Now we have to see that garish sign looming over the neighborhood! Get rid of it.

This is not the spirit if the lower east side. And if as you say you live downtown, you will understand. Thank you
