Oil drilling in a historic, residential area must stop for the health and quality of life of residents.

How we treat our planet matters. If we put garbage in we should expect it to give us garbage back.

This is a densely populated and earthquake prone area. The residents should have a direct say on this matter.

THIS is a PRIME example of WHY we need people to be alert, if you smell fumes. etc, call 1-800-CUT-SMOG and REPORT it! AND show up for Saturday's meeting to let the world know we are concerned that these incidents NOT happen in our community. Saturday, 1/11 9:00-10:00 at Holman Methodist-- Adams Blvd at 4th Ave. The guy from Southcoast AQMD phoned me back regarding the smell I detected this morning. Upon entering the oil field, Freeport-McMoRan was changing some pipes, cleaning some lubricant, blah, blah, blah, but when Mr. Fujiwara tested the air, TWENTY THOUSAND PPMs of natural gas had leaked into the air: FOUR THOUSAND times the acceptable 500 ppm limit going undetected because the gas had not yet been odorized. Nobody knew it was leaking. Human error is everywhere. Thank god AQMD went to the Murphy Oil Field on a 1-800-CUT-SMOG call. Geez Louise.
