This should be the decision of the residents/property owners. They did not buy homes in an oil field but in a neighborhood.

I am explicitly opposed to construction of new oil wells @ West Adams site. I have serious concerns about the health & environmental risks associated w/ such.

Poisoned water cannot be treated or amended and is a finite resource! We must value the human right to healthy, clean water and value the families affected by potential industrial catastrophes!

Let's stick together and focus on finding alternative fuel sources. Let's think about those who will inherit our city.

I protest the the Murphy Drill site. This neighborhood has recently been rehabilitated. Who owns the mineral rights. Did the people who own this address allow it? I don't know if this is a neighborhoood that has to have neighbors agree to changes in property and construction to proceed with such dramatic changes to the property, but this is not in the interest of this beautiful neighborhood.

Personally, as a scientist, I see this as arrogant. Any engineer or geologist or scientist that thinks they have accounted for all variables is seriously over confident. Trying to predict what will happen when you alter a natural system is very difficult, and you must always default to a position of safety. There's no way they can know with certainty this is safe.

Wow! I cannot believe this is happening right in the midst of a residential area full of families with young children, the elderly, and well, human beings and beloved pets. Why? Not to improve the health and well being of the community. I have family, including my daughter, son-in-law, and 2 year granddaughter, and friends and community members who cannot just pick up and move away from a drill site in their midst. What is the rationale for creating a nightmare for this community. Please stop the construction of oil wells in the neighborhood and provide a public hearing regarding this dreadful news.

Health first. We must be assured our childrens' health is taken into account and protected above anything else.

I think fraking is dangerous no matter where it is done. But to do it in a residential neighborhood where children and families are at risk of health issues is abhorrent. Moreover, I am concerned that people living in a residential area where fraking occurs risk damage to their homes -- mainly the foundations. This damage is expensive to fix, and if left to the homeowner, is really unfair. Please hold a public hearing to address these issues and return the neighborhood to a liveable place. Thank you.

The health risk associated with this are well understood in scientific literature. This is not the time for increases in unsustainable practices. This is a time for investing in clean technologies for the future.
