Tanya, thank you for wanting to help. and anyone else who is willing to help, please share this petition wherever you can and encourage people to sign it. I am new at this and I'm still trying to find ways to make it public. My latest idea was to email the reporter who first reported this story on CNN news. We'll see what happens. Natives do not get a fair treatment in the courts or anywhere else. The time for change is past due. And change will only come if we speak out and confront those who continue the injustice.

How can our people begin to start to heal when issues like this are an ongoing norm beginning from our history up til now? This is Canada and Canada exploits multiculturalism, however it seems to be the opposite when it comes to the unfair treatment towards our native people. We are not animals nor savages to be disregarded as meaningless, we are a people who hurt from what we've lived through and continue to live through today. The meaning of justice is fairness and this poor young lady and her family deserve that❤

Disturbing how they thought locking her up was the right thing to do after what she went through.. Nobody listened may she get justice and may she rest in peace

Treatment of Indigenous individuals needs to change. Men and women both deserve the same rights as any other race is shown.

This is an appalling failure of our justice system. Everyone involved with allowing this treatment of a victim deserves to be penalized. Absolutely heartbreaking and terrifying to know these actions are possible.

This is atrocious and must never happen again. The provincial court's "detailed investigation" is a necessary first step, but it is not sufficient. Dismiss Judge Bodnarek!

This must NEVER happen again. This must be made right as much as possible. She deserves an apology, financial compensation for re-traumatizing her, free medical and psychological support for her lifetime, and anyone involved in accepting the decision to drive her with her attacker should be fired.

In this day and age, members in the justice system should know the difference between what is helpful and what is harmful towards a sexual assault victim.
