The legislation for PTSD Awareness license plates has officially passed. We are now coordinating with the Secretary of State office to finalize the manufacturing logistics for these plates. Thank you for maintaining the pressure required to get this bill signed into law.
K9s for Veterans, NFP, is a not-for-profit (501c3) that provides fully trained service dogs to veterans diagnosed with PTSD. Along with Senator Michael Hastings, we would like to sponsor PTSD Awareness License Plates in Illinois.
Please support this cause by signing this petition. Thank you.
The momentum generated by this petition has officially secured a formal meeting with the legislative office to discuss the drafting of the bill. We are now preparing the necessary documentation to present to the transportation committee as our next step.

I think this plate would be a good start to open up and keep a conversation on PTSD. Thank you.

PTSD Awareness is an important issue, not just to veterans and first responders, but to survivors in all walks of life.

Driving can be a scary experience for PTSD survivors. Many individuals may just avoid it altogether. But it is a necessity for full rehabilitation and functioning. Having this identifier can help streamline the experience for individuals with PTSD by helping other drivers on the road and law enforcement be more aware/informed.
