The lack of democracy within Pakistani political parties has rendered the notion of a functioning national democracy, which empowers the ordinary citizen a failure. All main political parties represent the vested interests of a small number of people, and are run as family fiefdoms, which pass power from one generation to the next. This condemns Pakistani elections to one of personality rather than of policy.

PTI is the only current political party which has the ability to challenge this stranglehold, and introduce the electorate to a politics of ideas and principle. There is a consensus amongst the supporters and members of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, that internal party elections are a fundamental and non-negotiable prerequisite before we can credibly present a new social contract to the populous.

We therefore request that the Chairman and Central Executive Committee enact transparent and uniform internal elections throughout the country.

The petition will be mailed to the General Secretary of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf once we have achieved over 1,000 signatures. If you support our efforts to democratize the party please add your signature.
