Psychology Today Needs to Wake Up

This is article is anti-Black. My BIPOC radical practice will not be associated with diminishing and dismissing Black humour, methods for survival, and upholding white supremacy.

I’m considering ending my subscription and listing with psychology Today unless this is addressed immediately.

Please remove it posthaste.

This is a huge disgrace to the profession. It is difficult enough to engage the black community in trusting providers (white) and this has only damaged the rapport and trust we have worked extremely hard to build.

This is very disappointing. I plan to cancel my PT subscription.

This article needs to be removed and a formal apology issued.

This publication needs to be doing more and better to root out, challenge and counter white supremacy.

I am deeply offended by this article, and I call on Psychology today to disavow the stance of white privilege and the erasure of BIPOC experiences represented by this article. It’s past time for Psychology Today to immediately hire more inclusive staff, and center the experiences and perspectives of BIPOC clinicians and clients. I will be taking my business elsewhere if I don’t see changes.

It’s pure ignorance for folx to even propose the idea that “Karen’s” aka White people are under attack and suffering in some kind of ridiculous way! The only thing under attack is our liberties and freedoms and equality... particularly for those of us of color! Well...and racism, that’s under attack as it should be!

I will not only cancel my membership, I will request all my followers to cancel theirs as well.

This is such an abhorrent, ignorant, disgusting article dripping with white privilege. The article, and the author, must be removed from Psychology Today. Diversity is greatly lacking in the publication altogether. You MUST do better.

I signed the petition and really support this cause. I already have a bad opinion of Psychology Today because I signed another petition a few years ago about how they only have white people on their covers. They need to have more people of color on their board.

This is super bias and needing some reflection. Please take down.

I have received great value from my Psychology Today bio. Please be aware that this is a real issue for those of us stepping forward and signing, or we would not consider such a drastic measure as leaving.

Talking down to BIPOC as they express the harms of the injustices they experience is unjust.

I was really shocked by this article. While I am all for rational conversation, this article truly minimized the SAFETY experiences of POC in order to protect the feelings of white people. This along with all the covers being of thin white women has me really questioning my membership here. Please get this article out and get some POC writers onboard and on the front covers.

This is truly an appalling move by Psychology Today and stands very much in line with invalidating the BIPOC experience.

This is exactly an example of white privilege article at the expense of people of color..it is making the Karen's a victim and continuing on the side of lack of accountability...I thought better of this magazine, but then again. Why did I?

The mansplaining and attempts to maintain the status quo won't be tolerated...hence our calling out of Karen's in the first place
