This article was just one of many types of microaggressive, tone deaf, passive aggressive behaviors that I have seen from Psychology Today. I cancelled my subscription a while back and the naunchelot concern for my patronage was clear. There is never any clear representation for Black people, Indigenous People or other People of Color. Also, the information is often hurtful as this article truly is. In addition this author is on a significant platform and has impressionable students to his charge.
I hope he will hear and see understanding... anti racism and that Psychology Today will do better.

This article was awful and so hurtful. We shouldn't have an enraged reaction to people using their power to get other people killed or harmed. This is ludicrous.

This is the most misguided, I’ll informed and offensive article I’ve read in a while. Who approved this nonsense?

This article was written with “all lives matter” mentality and is dismissive to the black lives matter movement.

I'm very disappointed in Psychology Today. I fel there is definitely a lack of diversity and the publication does not seem to be culturally competent.

This cannot stand. This type of tone deaf publishing of this article is hurtful to POC clients and diminishes the work of equity that is essential in our field.

Psychology today having white people speak on and over people of color on issues regarding race and racism is incredibly harmful and needs to stop

It’s beyond obvious that death threats to anyone are not ok. The fact that PT focuses on this aspect of the “Karen” phenomenon is tone deaf and perpetuates white privilege by focusing on empathy for the privileged white woman.

This article is not only tone deaf but is harmful to BIPOC and perpetuates white supremacist ideology. I’m appalled that the author is running for president of the APA and is in any way associated with the field of psychology. I’m concerned for any clients of clinicians who read this and don’t see the problematic nature of it. This article needs to be removed immediately and a statement needs to be made to apologize to BIPOC clinicians and clients for it being posted in the first place.

The field of psychology has an unfortunate history of contributing to the oppression of marginalized groups. (ie: LGBGTQ community). But to not only publish but put on the front page something so culturally INCOMPETENT suggests you are not representative of Psychology Today but Psychology 1950. Unfortunately I was not surprised since your publication tends to be tone deaf but I am so incredibly disappointed.
