“Research experience is the best preparation for graduate school, and these days is virtually a requirement.”
Katherine Sledge Moore
University of Michigan

For Spring 14, Hawaii Pacific University is only offering Counseling Practicum (PSY 4950) and History and Systems of Psychology (PSY 4900) as capstone classes in psychology and not Research Seminar (4925). This choice not only greatly decreases the likelihood that psychology undergrads will participate in research but it also limits and discriminates against students, who are already doing their own research – both actions that very well may negatively influence their chance of being accepted into grad school. We therefore demand, that the Psychology Department at Hawaii Pacific University offers upper division psychology research classes every semester.
