Short time to finish a long test, leading to panic and eventually making wrong calculations.

We did not have enough time to complete this test, and were being tested on brand new material that we learned just two days before

Did not have enough time. Would prefer to make this test worth less of our grade or scratch it altogether.

I think another important point worth mentioning is that her instructions were not entirely clear, and this may also be part of the reason people didn't finish. For instance, she stressed time and time again in class that we should *always* do certain things, such as: - Stating a hypothesis and conclusion - F-Max test (where appropriate) - Measure of effect size However, some short answer questions only required certain parts of the hypothesis test, but given the amount of stress that was put on *always* performing certain operations (i.e. a full test), it was not clear enough that we should not do the steps we were told to *always* do. For example question #25 stated that we should "simply" perform certain parts of the hypothesis test. However, "simply" does not mean "only" - and furthermore, if she was going to throw us a curve ball like that, she should have specified what steps we should not perform, considering how much emphasis was put on always executing them. So, we went in knowing that she is meticulous about detail, and I imagine those of us who were paying attention performed the steps were told we should always do just to be safe. But of course, that ended up in not having enough time to finish the exam. This is hardly fair.

Yes, all of us are expected to know it all, and be prepared for the midterm. I believe most of us were. The time allocated was not enough. If, for instance, 2 out of 60 people were able to complete their exam in the given time, this does not necessarily mean rest of the students can as well. Professor (experience of teaching STATS over about 10-15 yrs) being able to complete the same exam under 30 minutes cannot be compared with students who are in the process of learning and become an expertise (which professor already is). Few students/ professor may argue that this is a review section- already expected to know everything. If students are uncomfortable with the given exam time now, imagine how difficult it would be for upcoming midterm, and final exams. With all due respect to our prof. She is/ maybe correct from her point of view, but she also has to be open-minded with our concerns and difficulties.

More time was definitely needed. Lost easy marks because there were too many questions/not enough time.

There was not enough time to complete the whole test. I was unable to finish the last two short answers and I felt extremely stressed and pressured to answer the questions correctly with the limited time. As stated before it is unfair because the test was unorganized, most students who arrived early with last names L-Z were asked to leave and wait in the hallway. By the time we went in we were expected to start our test right away, there were so many distractions, constant problems with individuals who did not have a 'basic' calculator. Overall, it is not fair for us to feel so anxious to answer and I felt rushed to complete the whole test. I think it is unfair especially because it was unorganized, most students who arrived early with last names writing our tests, because it was unorganized and there was not enough time to complete the test.
