A petition to get PSN to change their system to make a name change. One possible way of doing this is making the user IDs and screen names separate, so that games recognize you by UID and players recognize you by screen name.

A thousand people really want to ditch their embarrassing middle school handles and I honestly just keep staring at that number because it feels so surreal. My coffee is cold and I am spiraling a little thinking about why it took this long for us to realize we could actually ask for this.

I was looking at the progress bar and honestly it is wild how we are drifting toward that one thousand mark because I really need Sony to see this pile of names sitting there when they check their inbox. If you can just send this link to a few people who also hate their old username (does anyone actually like their middle school gamertag) we might finally force them to look at the uid system.

I've had an awful blame for 10 years. I was young and dumb but I have so much progress. Starting over would not only be a huge hassle but would cost me lots of money. I've spent lots of money on my account and I'd like to just not look immature to everybody I meet online.
I have a YouTube channel, my PSN ID is part of my now 100% Xbox clan, I would love to change it to go with my Channel name, something that viewers and subs would find easily without me having to state constantly in every video and description
I created my PSN ID ten years ago. I don't share the same views as I did when I was 12, and none of my current accounts share that same username, making it really difficult to share content to viewers but asking them to juggle two different handles.
I really hate this. A username I made when I was 10 and now its sticking with me, I'm 16 btw. its hard to go online anymore without multiple people screwing with me or my friends laughing at me. They gotta change this.
My psn name is my brothers name, unrelated to me because i was too young when I made the account. So he had to make one for me, but he used his name. I have changed the email to mine but a psn name change would make the account perfect and easier for my friends to find me.

I just want 1 name change. My current name is some s*** and I cant begin to amount to the amount of positives to adding this feature. There are literally no negatives. It also wouldn't be something tremendously hard to add to the psn server. ):

Came to PlayStation from the Xbox many years ago, and presumed that the name I made them could be changed later on as can be done on the Xbox. Now I am stuck with the name and will lose all data if I decided to make a new account. That is ridiculous.
