This programme provides great opportunities for the cultural exchange between Jamaicans and everyone they interact with in France. I was so pleased to see how much they valued what I had to offer and despite the fact they have texts which seek to enlighten them, they are incomparable to the actual hands-on they get from the Language Assistants.

I was one of last term's assistants and that experience was amazing for me. I hope it will continue to be open/ accessible by all Jamaicans no matter their background. I feel that having visas processed in Panama will discourage many and will only allow a certain 'privileged' group who can afford to pay additional cost, to go to Panama to have their visas processed. At this point, there are no direct flights from Jamaica to France which makes the journey not only more expensive but also long and tiresome.

The French Consulate in Jamaica offers services to not just Jamaicans but other Caribbean nationals as well. Panama is a bit out of the way. Please allow the French Consulate to remain in the island. I and many others have personally benefitted from the french culture as a result of the work of the consulate.

Please keep the French Consulate in Jamaica. I am a Montreal, Canadian and I believe there should be a special spot in Jamaica that has the French Consulate in place. The French language should be explored and Jamaican youth should be able to travel and study abroad with the guidance of the French Consulate representatives. Thank you!
