Providence resident's pedestrian access to Greenvale Reservoir Park

I brought 2 large puppies because we had access to Greenvale Reservoir Park. There was 3 gates. I was so upset when they put up the huge cyclone fencing as I could not walk my puppies there. Infact I too called Hume Council, Parks Victoria & Melbourne Water and I got the run around and eventually told, we won't get access. I think this petition is an awesome idea as I would love access. I think if we got a swipe card to enter the reservoir it would be a great idea. or something like that, that people in our estate have only access. I purposely brought the land here because of the access to the reservoir and brought my puppies because of it. It's false advertisement to take it away from us.

I was under the impression when I purchased at the Estate that we would have access to the Park from Providence.

I think pin combinaton is best - and they could limit the gate to only work then the park is normally open...

We support the idea of having access to that Greenvale reservoir we have to Young kids it'll be great taking them for bike rides Greenbaum is a volt or just for fitness for myself and my wife

Hi Shane, Sincere thanks for getting this up and running. Like others Oliver Hume had made a number of assurances about the access.I see no need for any sort of “security” device fitted to a gate; the gate merely needs a latch if there are wildlife concerns.My partner often has to drive from the estate around the corner to go running through the park area, so we are certainly in favour of access.We are happy to help out….

We too purchased our block (14 Samos Drive) based on having pedestrian access to the Greenvale Reservoir Park. We were disappointed when the fence was subsequently erected. Having now lived at the site for around 21 months, I understand the concerns that Melbourne Water have about security for the water supply, containing the kangaroos and importantly removing the likelyhood of non residents parking at Providence. However I believe that both residents and Melbourne Water can both be satisfied by providing a locked gate that can be opened by residents by either a entering combination, swipimg a card or with a key. Residents could then gain access to a "key" and bear any costs incurred.

I also was told we would have access to the Greenvale Reservoir Park which was a consideration when purchasing the property at Providence Estate and therefore request access be granted via a gate so kangaroos etc may not enter the estate.

I share the same concerns as you do and as you have stated access to the the park was one of the good features of living here hence, why we purchased and built here. Fully support your actions pleas let me know if I can be of assistance.
