The parking lot is too small to handle the traffic created by the amount of parents picking their children up from school.

With the increased car traffic, buses cannot flow easily into and out of the parking lot space available.

The alternative solution would be to add on to the parking lot, which would cost more money and would not change the situation in the short term.

Families living inside this sub-division are paying school taxes that one would assume includes school funded buses, yet have been excluded from those services.

The sub-division does not have sidewalks throughout its borders, leaving our children who walk to have to do so in the streets at an increased risk to themselves.

Restructuring Parking lots and adding additional sidewalks while necessary are cost prohibitive steps.These may help over the long term but do not address immediately the inequality and inefficiency currently hindering both school administrators and parents involved.

I started this petition because I have witnessed the frustrations of both parents and the school staff in regards to this situation. As parents, I think we need to organize and mobilize to affect positive change that will benefit not only our own children, but future families looking to become a part of the great community Utica has to offer. With this petition, we as parents canvoice our concerns as well as our solutions to our school district as well as our city leadership.
