We live in a rural area and internet access has been a definite challenge for many of our families. At one time, internet access was a luxury, today it is a necessity, most especially when we are required to reach out to our students to provide meaningful, deliberate instruction. Please do what can be done to provide high speed internet access to all communities and all families.

The ERate program provides schools and their students access to the internet while on campus and learning. During this time of off-campus education, it is imperative that the program evolves to offer that same accessibility to the same students who are now being educated in an off campus environment.

As of mid-April the Mesquite Independent School District, located in Mesquite Texas, has had approximately 1,800 households request that hotspots be provided for their children. This will allow their children access to the internet so they will be able to take full advantage of the online learning services our District is providing.. More request are coming in everyday.
