This should NEVER be a negotiable matter. The fact that we need these petitions is nauseating in itself. As an ER nurse devoted to the health safety and life saving measures serving our community for well over a decade, now in the year 2020 with all the technologies and medical advances —PPE shortages and “interim recommendations” that contradict evidence based research to accommodate the supply/demand issue is insulting to our intelligence and profession as a whole. We fight and advocate for our patients day in and day out -we protect their rights, ironically such as informed consent. Where’s our “informed consent” on this matter? Now it’s the communities turn to step up and advocate for us and our safety to continue to serve you and our communities.

Please help us take care of our patients by providing us with the proper equipment. We are the frontline to help battle this virus. We can’t fight a war without weapons. Arm us with proper equipment and we can help our patients, family and community.

I’m still not sure how hospitals can seriously be asking healthcare workers to be reusing precaution stuff which would normally get thrown out after one use. The chance of them becoming infected/bringing this virus home to there loved ones is so high! Stay safe

Please help, I am an asthmatic therefore at serve risk with the Covid-19 disease. My mom is coming home from work at the hospital after being exposed because they are not given the required equipment to keep them and their families safe. She needs to go to work, at least you can thank them by doing your best to provide them with the best possibility to stay safe.

Health care workers put themselves on the line every day in order to care for others, the absolute LEAST we should be doing is giving them the tools to protect themselves from getting sick.
