SUNY Maritime has the worst quality food I have ever encountered. I believe dog food would be a tastier and healthier option. The dining workers also ignore basic sanitation; I saw a cook leave the restroom without washing his hands. Food is constantly handled with hands while being served. Around 90% of the meals are practically trash and inedible.
This is a shameful reflection on the college administration; the institution desperately needs major reforms. SUNY Maritime produces mariners committed to serving the nation, and the state government could have provided significantly more funding to support it.

My brother is a cadet at SUNY Maritime. Completely agree. They need better food. Food is currently very bad and does not provide strength for athletic and academic commitment.

Yup needs to be audited, I have personally seen perishable foods outside in the sun for hours in august.

my boyfriend spends more time on the toilet after eating the food than he does actually eating it

Way to expensive for the choices and quality offered. For the amount of time my son swipes he could be having some pretty good meals delivered in and it would still be cheaper than my price per swipe for sub par food and he wouldn’t have to to wait online for it. Also, just curious as to why the meal plan cost ( and dorm) were not adjusted for the late start this year (it’s a 10 day diff) I have raised this question with student accts but no one there returns emails or messages.

Why is there only one food pace open? You are making our children’s experience at Maritime miserable. This is unacceptable.

My son also complained of long lines for food. He said hamburgers were being served for days. There is no other option as well which concerns me when and if sports start.

Lunch and dinner have very few choices and the lines are ridiculous. There needs to be a variety and more places to dine

My son is a vegaetarian and healthy options are limited to fried carbihydrates and salad. There are tons of healthy options that are not salad

I see the complaints about the food are still an issue. My son graduated years ago & the food was not good then & the cadets had limited time to get meals. It's not like they are getting it for free. I hope this petition helps to make some changes for the better.

My cadet has complained that there are no healthy "snack" choices in the evening. The choices are nachos, popcorn and pizza. How about some fruit and yogurt.

The adults attending the school should be allowed to take wrapped sandwiches and snacks from the mess deck for days when their schedule does not allow normal patterns
