I am writing this petition today to encourage my fellow Severance citizens to let our town council know that we will not stand idly by while they use our taxes to buy new buildings and amass large cash reserves all while not providing select neighborhoods with any city services.

Severance city council members should take action to begin providing Soaring Eagle Ranch and its residents with the basic city services provided to the rest of the town. During the past decade, we have faithfully paid our taxes and have yet to receive any city services (i.e... snow removal, asphalt repair, street lights, franchised internet, just to name a few services). As you are probably aware, the developer of our neighborhood worked out a deal with Severance relieving them of any obligation to provide city serves to Soaring Eagle Ranch. Several of us have attempted to work with our city council to rectify this situation to no avail. I feel it is important to let our council members know that this behavior does not build a better community. It only helps to create disdain, frustration, and the feeling of being taken advantage of.

We value the board members’ dedication to our town and now we encourage you to take action to fix these past wrongs. I address this message to the following Severance Board members:
