Education and well being for Autistic Children in Brighton is going backwards. Rather than the usual empty words a clear plan to provide first class education is required with a specialist school.

My nephew just had such a hard time finding an appropriate place to learn. Investing resources now will save money , time and lots of difficulties for families - this is a right not an extra

I am in strong support of this petition. I had to make the difficult choice to pull my ASC son out of mainstream education system because I knew, 100%, that the environment, the classroom format and the rigidity of the curriculum delivery would be detrimental to my sons learning, progress and mental health. There is NO mainstream ed provision in Brighton and Hove thAt is suitable for young ASC people that are cognitively able. Too many in this situation are failing in their school placements and this has a severe impact on their teaching their potential as independent adults able to contribute to society. A specialist ASC school is sorely needed.

Please consider signing this petiton. From our own experience, I can clearly see a requirement for another Autism specific secondary school in addition to Downs Park. Thanks.

This money was allocated for a secondary school, we need an ASC specific secondary school so just carry on the plans to build it. It is much needed in the city.
