As per the work to rule campaign , the Rainbow District school board has been making changes to the way they are operating within their schools. As of October 5th one of those changes includes keeping the main door of the school unlocked at all times as they are not mandated to lock them. Through hours of research and phone calls I discovered that it is a site based decision which means that ultimately that decision is made by the vice principal and principal at each school, that being said there are a few schools in our area that, despite the ongoing dispute, have decided to put the children first and keep their doors locked. Unfortunately Valleyview has not followed suit with those other schools and have instead decided that the doors will remain unlocked. Please sign this petition and keep our kids safe.
