Petition for Protection and Legal Relief for Mexican Nationals Affected by and Fleeing Violence in Mexico

We must show compassion to our fellow human beings. We are not separate.

If only this petition would effect a radical awakening among those policy makers in the White House and Senate.

These are people at the end of the day: mothers, fathers, uncles, aunts, cousins, siblings, etc. They just want help, they want a better life. This move for them has already been a difficult decision to make, knowing their lives are at risk either in the journey to the border or there after and yet they see it as better to take the chance than to stay where they are. That says a lot. It is THE right thing to do.

As a former ESL teacher with students from Mexico and Central America, I know that we American citizens do ourselves a disfavor by not creating a respectful way to legally welcome these eager and hardworking immigrants to our country. History will judge this period in American history harshly.

What is happening now will be go down in history as one of the most shameful, evil things our country has done since slavery and the genocide of Native Americans. It must stop.

Having recently traveled to El Paso to see for ourselves the conditions, perspectives, and challenges facing migrants on the southwest U.S. border, my husband and I wish to support the efforts so many are undertaking to address this horrendous situation.

It is the right thing to do

These are all children of God just as those who hate them. They need to be cared as they flee for their lives.

My wife and I are saddened by the way the USA is treating immigrants seeking asylum. We are especially angered by the separation of children from their families and the children being “housed” in cages in Texas.

It is my hope that we Americans who respect everyone’s right to a peaceful and productive life support such organizations as Annunciation house to counter the hateful conduct of Trump and the Republican Party behind him . We are better than this government and shall act in a higher moral manner as the President acts from his swamp

The US should be working with the governments in those countries that people are fleeing. We need to look at the root cause of their migration.

The situation is bilateral and is deeply rooted in historical tendencies on both sides of the border (ie corruption, greed, poverty, violence, labor shortages, unemployment, imperialism, firearms, drug habits, etc.).
