Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center is allowing biological men who identify as women (transgender women) into the Women's Center Locker Room. We have already vocalized to management that this violates our privacy and safety as women. Some have chosen not to change in the locker room altogether because they feel vulnerable and unprotected.

Management's solution to the issue was to create a tiny space with a curtain for the women who do not feel comfortable changing in front of biological males. The biological women can then go behind the curtain to change. This is completely unacceptable and leaves us feeling dismissed and unheard. The problem is that a biological male is in the women's locker room period, and rather than find another space for him we cater to his feelings and ignore the feelings of our own nurses.

PVHMC states they need to be in compliance with California state law but the law does not protect the rights of women. It affirms and protects the rights of biological males in the name of inclusivity while abandoning and neglecting the rights of women.

This needs to change. Please join and support us as we try and find a resolution to keep our women's locker room safe.
