This application goes against the secretary of states decision regarding the gap between Hassocks & Hurstpierpoint. There are also more developments intended for London Road so the impact of all as a collective need to be considered in relation to the dangerous traffic situation that will be caused at Stonepound Crossroads.

Should this development go ahead it will have a significant impact on the local gap between Hurstpierpoint and Hassocks so destroying the nature of two villages. Additionally it will have a dire impact upon the volume of local traffic and the air quality, or lack thereof, at Stonepound Crossroads which already exceeds the legal limits for NOx pollution and is the subject of a AQMA (Air Quality Management Area) order.

A reason for us moving from Hurstpierpoint after living there for 25+ years was the detrimental effect poor air quality was having on our dayghter's health.

I moved into a village and that a village represents to me, I do not want to live in a town. This area has very bad traffic problems NOW, extra housing would only add to it, plus the implications for health issues, especially, children and the elderly would be enormous....

I live near stone pound and it is do congested already we don't need more houses or cars also do polluted I moved here from London as have breathing problems and yet pollution is so bad here yet it needn't be

hassocks is full. The air quality is deteriorating, the schools are about to burst, the trains to London are worse than cattle trucks and the proposed site floods. Why build there? Money. Where will that money go? Not to the village.
