The petition of the undersigned shows:

- The concern of Australia's forestry communities, workers and businesses about the national campaign by environmental groups to shut down industry access to native forest resource.

Your petitioners ask/request that the Senate:

- Recognise the social, economic and environmental contribution the native forest industry makes to regions throughout Australia including bushfire mitigation, sustainable forestry management, long term carbon capture and the employment of tens of thousands of Australian workers.

- Ensure the industry is able to continue to access native forests for the sustainable production of timber products.
