Online websites and media outlets have access to data and personal information through forms like monitoring and recording your history. Everyone is impacted by privacy and data sharing whether they are aware of it or not as companies place fine print text imbedded in their pages for people to easily look over or agree to. This petition aims to push for legislature that prevents companies from having access to this information and at the bare minimum provide knowledge on the information they intend to gather should you choose to access their website or piece of media with your help we aim to target this problem directly by providing congress with a detailed outline of the information that should not be spread like social security numbers, financial records, and court cases. With this, we will also provide a solution that will include restricting companies on the information they can gather from a website without specific consent and providing information on their website should they choose to collect this information about what exactly they will gather from the individual.
