The case has been dropped and the court pressure is finally over. I am completely drained but relieved that we held our ground against such an exhausting challenge. We will keep watching the horizon for any new threats to these protected spaces.

Sall Grover, CEO of Giggle, a social media app just for females, has received notice that she will be taken to federal court for excluding all male people from using the app.

Roxanne Tickle, a biological male who has a trans identity, is suing because he didn't pass through the visual identification process that checks new members are female before allowing them access to the app.

If you allow any males into a female only space, you don't have a female only space any more. You have a mixed sex space.

We the undersigned believe that females have the human right to congregate away from the presence of male people, and confirm that single sex environments have been beneficial to our mental and emotional health in a way that cannot be recreated in a mixed sex space. We therefore believe this right is covered under section 32 of the Sex Discrimination Act 1984 (as amended) and call for this case to be dismissed.

UPDATE 5/7/22

MS TICKLE HAS FILED A DISCONTINUENCE WITH THE COURT AND THE CASE WILL NOT PROCEED.

The grind is exhausting and some days it feels like we are shouting into the void. We are getting near one hundred signatures and reaching that mark will show the opposition that our resolve is holding firm.

I use Giggle, and it is such a great place for females to gather without fear of males intruding. It is so easy to talk openly and freely with other females, because I know that no males will stalk harass or otherwise bother me. This app, and all female-only spaces are absolutely necessary for females.

Lawful assembly is a human right. Disrupting lawful assembly is not. Harassing lesbians for not letting males on their apps is like getting mad because a book club won't accept non-readers.

Women, who live everyday with the threat and reality of male violence, are entitled to our sex-based rights and protections. Among these is the right to assemble as members of the female sex class. The safe and comfortable social space Giggle provides for women is a sanctuary in an online world of increasing misogyny and male intrusion.

I really appreciate Giggle. It is a very supportive and friendly space - I use it when I need time away from men and male energy. Being with just other women is restorative to me.

Yes. Be nice if ol' Clownshoes stopped his compulsive demonising and harassing of this woman, especially during the end of her pregnancy when the toll of the stress affects another growing being. The process is the punishment, no matter if she is found to have committed no offence, and Mr Tickle knows it.

As a female born person, I believe that I shoukd have the right to have safe spaces with other female born persons that exclude male born persons (regardless of their gender identity). Freedom to associate with like minded and similar individuals is a basic human right that should be respected.

I feel sick and tired of DNA Born biological men trying to be in women's change rooms and bathrooms, sports competitions and especially on female only websites.
