I feel that our hearing impaired community is going to need asl translators now and in the future. Cutting the asl program will leave them struggling

Having asl as a class would be beneficial to students all over the world and it helps people with disabilities learn lot from it

This world relies on communication and with 10% of the world having some form of hearing deficits it’s important that this stays at west

I genuine believe and know that ASL opens up a world to the disabled community to communicate with the rest of the world and everywhere.

all of my children have studied sign language. I am proficient in sign language and my daughter is currently attending this course in school. my nieces and nephews are hearing impaired and have used sign language throughout their school and lives. Sign language is a language that is used in the United States frequently. I believe should be taught in all schools at all levels Please do not get rid of this essential program.

Our ASL class is so important, loved, and popular. We all adore Ms Poll and her teaching is always engaging.

Why get rid of something that important to people who can’t speak let alone the fact that it’s a whole language for those who use it I’m upset at the fact that West at of all the high schools, want to get rid of such a diverse community

They shouldn’t remove ASL I’ve never taken the language class but I think it’s heart warming to see how ASL students are so involved into school and assemblings and well as it’s such an important language I always see students and my friends use asl to communicate on a day to day basis and it’s heartbreaking to see these students get this opportunity to learn taken away.

It doesn't make sense to end the program. The numbers are there and it meets IB requirements.

Why? This is taking away adaptive power & unification. It’s not just a fun language to learn. It’s a breakdown of a disability barrier for deaf students AND deaf community! You’re taking away a communication bridge between the deaf community & hearing community!
