clueless individuals again do not listen to the local public that they represent. Total arrogance the Town Centre is a disgrace you spent money on bike scheme, didn't work, DG1 hasn't worked, traffic lights at roundabout at St Michaels Street didn't work, bus stop fiasco regeneration of town Burns Statue appalling waste of taxpayers money, closing Loreburn Hall let it get into ruin before developing it to accommodate the closing of DG1. You never listen Colin Smyth listen and learn from your mistakes if this goes ahead with your arrogance and hypocrisy I'm sure it will, it will muck up you will spend over your budget and The Whitesands will be finished!

I think this would be an atrocity to the picturesque Whitesands. Generations have enjoyed a stroll along the side of the Nith, looking down the cawl. Our forefathers would turn in their graves. For centuries the Sands have been as they are. Leave them alone, and chose a defence from mother nature that is discreet rather than a monstrocity. x

I prefer the UK flood barrier option

The plan will spoil the view of the river and push the water to the other side of the riverbank. There must be cheaper alternatives. That design looks like another DGone farce by the council.

The whitesands is a beauty spot just the way it is and will lose this look if this work continues, surely there are other ways to put a flood defence up

Please take what the people of Dumfries want, into consideration.

Waste of money, waste of time, will go over budget and the water will end up on somebody else's property.

You are taking car park spaces away and not replacing them

Why is this going ahead when quite clearly the people of Dumfries don't want it?

It floods a couple of times as year as it has for decades. A few shop keepers should not be enabled to dictate the landscape
