I have been shopping there my whole life and I would hate to see it go.

Dear Sirs and Madams, As I watch the city of DC and surrounding areas being gobbled up by greedy developers, I feel disappointed and frustrated with our leadership. I hope that you will do everything in your power to keep the TPSS Co-op open, as it is one of the few remaining independent grocery stores and has served an important role in our community. I hope you will put the needs of the community and the independent spirit of Takoma Park first, and not the empty promises of the developers. Sincerely, Kate Samworth

I have been a coop member for years and encourage any development in that area to put the coop needs first. Thank you.

I highly value the coop and I moved to Takoma Park to be close to the coop as well as other advantages that the community offers. I was surprised and not happy to know I had to pay extra taxes to live in Takoma Park but feel it is critical for us to keep the co op operating, able to expand, have a dock for produce and badly needed parking space. Thank you Anita Cook

I support the coop. We need parking, a loading dock and room to expand. Please support this.

It is essential that the basics for the Co-op's survival be guaranteed prior to negotiations of other, non fundamental issues.

The well-being of the Coop needs to be the primary consideration regarding any development at the Junction. I stand firmly behind the opinions of the Coop management regarding this agreement.

Development of the city-owned lot adjacent to the TPSS must not threaten the existence of a longstanding institution that represents core values of many in our community. The TPSS Coop was established by local citizens and primarily serves local citizens. Please do not sign the development agreement which contains language that fails to ensure the survival of the Coop through a development process. Many alternative creative solutions are possible and more appropriate for our community.

The co op is beyond essential to our community. I cannot sufficiently stress the importance of making sure all their needs are met to continue to be a viable business in our neighborhood. It is gathering place, a grocery store, a source for organics, and a distributor for local suppliers, among other things. Everyone loves the coop - please show them respect for all they do.

It sounds absolutely ludicrous to even hear talk of possibly losing the TKP Co-Op. It's a huge part of what makes TKP, TKP. If it left, I would move along with other wonderful, people I know. TKP, don't seek out. Progress is one thing, but, completely changing, is another. This is a unique city. It needs the TKP Co-Op, exactly where it is too.

While the ultimate plans seem interesting .... my main concern is that the Co-op is critical to the area and the plans need to make some guarantee for it's safety!!!
