September 10, 2012 Carroll County, Virginia - Supervisor David Hutchins made the motion to draft an ordinance to prohibit Windmills in Carroll County by the end of the year. The motion passed 6-0 by the Carroll County Board of Supervisors. While prudent actions to protect the economic and scenic integrity of Carroll County are valued, the proposed ordinance for zoning designations prohibiting the raising of wind turbines are permanent. It would be a direct violation of our individual and community rights to restrict the ability of future public and private leaders to manage their physical properties 100 years from now or at any point in the future.
