We demand that the Swartland Municipal Tribunal reverse its grant of consent use to authorise sand mining activities on the Paardeberg.

PLEASE allow the preservation of this beautiful, environmentally and agriculturally precious Swartland area. PLEASE respect the fine efforts of those who care about the safe keeping of our heritage. PLEASE ensure that these threats do not keep recurring!

The petion makes reference to the 'zebra-like animals that used to roam'. Used to; meaning no more. So many things in nature "used to be there" because of the insistent exposure to human greed, ignorance and inhumanity. Allowing the mining industry to dig it's claws into the mountains in the area, will not only change the face of the landscape. It will disturb the natural habitat of the fauna and flora of the area and the cultural and social landscape of the area. Tourists flock to the Winelands for these attractions. We need to preserve TODAY in order to have a TOMORROW. I ugre you to consider the preservation of this beautiful area.

Please withdraw the mining licences. The long term prosperity of the area will be much better served with agriculture. There are many less sensitive areas which can be mined

This is so wrong! Is it because farmers are in financial trouble and this is the only way out or is this just the easiest way to make money?

Unbelievable that responsible authorities should grant consent for destruction of beautiful Paardeberg. Imperative to overturn decision!!

Allowing such development wis not advised if it will negatively impact the local agricultural economics and/or the natural or current land use's environment.

Not cool. Once youve destroyed an eco system you cant undo it. Stop destryoing stuff for money, its completely short sighted.

It is outrageous that our beautiful country is being subjected to this utter brutality on life and ancient systems of this earth created for all living beings.
