Mining should not be allowed on an ad hoc basis. There should be a long term plan, prepared by the Municipality, in which both agriculture / conservation and mining should be considered, with sustainability of both as the overall goal.

The high handed way in which these authorities act is against the letter and spirit of democracy. The Provincial Government must also step in and act in the best interests of the Province. This is to prestine an area to allow this devastation.
