Dear & Honourable Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, We are all seriously perturbed by the avoidable wastages of paddy grains due to monsoon and non-commensurate speed with which procurements should have to happen. We understand that this issue is also due to insufficient procurement centres and godowns in the State. It is a heartening news that our State has achieved a pumper harvest in this season with increased acres of paddy cultivation. A proper planning, swift procurement, and enhanced storage godowns are needed if we truly respect the hard work of our farmers. உழவுக்கு வந்தனை செய்வோம் என்பது நம் பண்பாடு. In the coming years, the requirement of procurement centres would only go up.

We, the signatories of this Petition request your high office to assess the requirement for the next decade and plan construction of godowns and procurement centres on a war-footing. All the subsidy & assistances that govt offers to farmers would go in vain if their produces are made to rot and perish.

We sincerely hope that your good office would do the needful at the earliest.
