Protect Rural Loudoun and the Transition Area from Growth

We must stop further development and keep the old Comprehensive Plan in effect.

Please stop the overbuilding of western loudoun. Traffic, schools, water etc is already a problem

Housing permits and density agreements are being handed out at alarming rates with ZERO consideration for existing infrastructure, traffic, and the immense impact posed to residents which cherish the pristine rural areas of Loudoun which are being bulldozed-down like something out of Fern Gully. A FRACTION of a SINGLE percent of these new residents know anything about the area, or even grew up anywhere around here. I believe the essence of Loudoun County and the lineage of long-time residents is at risk of being lost forever - drowned out by cookie-cutter homes and mass-built pre-fab townhouses, occupied by residents which value the convenience of the location and NOTHING more about hundreds of years of history and heritage for which Loudoun County (especially western LoCo) stands for. It must be stopped, or at least addressed and respected. The people throwing out these permits care NOTHING about the history OR future of the county - only their bonuses and paychecks (and presumably pay-offs by these massive developers like toll brothers, etc). Please pass this on, this isn’t something that’ll impact our children - it’s happening right before our very eyes!

The buffer zone is critical protection for our open space and land use. Once breeched, we can't get it back.

While we can appreciate the need to add more housing in Loudoun county, the smooth transition as you extend West is important to preserve. Without that we will negatively effect the Middleburg AVA and the hunt country trails and resources. Follow the plan, not the money!

The transition area was put in the Comprehensive Plan for a well-intended reason.... to have a smooth transition from higher density to lower.... please respect what it was designed for. Thank you.

Don't ruin Loudoun!

Keep western Loudoun open and beautiful. Stop the greedy developers who trick us with promises of an enlarged tax base, when in fact the costs to residents rise with new housing.

People need to start farming again... protect our open spaces

Density is already increasing in both the Transition and Rural policy areas, all the way up to the Blue Ridge. The preservation envisioned in Loudoun’s 2003 Comprehensive Plan was not effectively enforced. Unless the new plan is much stronger, the whole county will soon look like the picture above.
