How ridiculous to withdraw the right for children and adults to learn to swim. When my child goes for his lesson each week I either pay money to sit and watch him or the whole family goes for a swim. The facilities offered at Downpatrick aren't great and if it wain't for the lessons we would go further afield were the facilities offered are much more family friendly.

These lessons could save a child's life. It is so beneficial to them to learn to swim at young age. Totally against these changes

After failing to get into council swimming lessons for both kids, I managed to secure places for both my children in ripples. When the term ends, my children are guaranteed places in the next term. There is no 'handbags at dawn' process.. The consistency of there swimming is maintained. To be quite frank, the service offered by private tutors especially ripples far exceeds anything the council offers or can offer in the future.

After failing to get into council swimming lessons for both kids, I managed to secure places for both my children in ripples. When the term ends, my children are guaranteed places in the next term. There is no 'handbags at dawn' process.. The consistency of there swimming is maintained. To be quite frank, the service offered by private tutors especially ripples far exceeds anything the council offers or can offer in the future.

The private swimming lessons and in particular the Little Flippers classes are an excellent service and should be retained by the council.
