Priority should be a badly needed public path from the end of Market St. to the pier, and this land could provide it and also give the town a public 'back garden'.

Parks need a lot of maintenance and supervision , you're looking at a long term commitment, and something like Park Ranger a support team and a maintenance and office base on site .

This area should definitely be a park to be enjoyed by the community. Please learn from the disasterous "planning" in Bantry. An enormous supermarket is in the process of being built on the harbour side blocking the view to the sea, the bay and the mountains. I love Kenmare and often visit to shop as respite from my local town's "planning" disasters.

This piece of land is a huge local resource, it needs to be kept for the community, it is and always has been beautiful, it needs to be kept and not sold to a developer.

Some places are meant to be left to nature and the community. The lands near Kenmare is one of those places. Our community does not want shopping centres and apartments.
