Pollution in our ocean is the most urgent kind of pollution. 71% of Earth´s surface is covered by water and 96.5% of that water is held by the ocean. Research has shown that 1.2 trillion gallons of untreated sewage, stormwater, and industrial waste is dumped in our water every year. Over 100,000 sea animals and over 1 million seabirds are killed because of pollution. That means that in 5 years, around 500,000 sea animals will die from pollution and over 5 million seabirds will die as well
