We are a very unique high school in a rich, historic neighborhood. We want to preserve the pride of the Stop Six neighborhood. We are asking the FWISD School Board to build the new YMLA in another area. We don't support the board recommendation that it be placed next door to Dunbar High since its community of parents and teachers chooses not to be apart of Dunbar High or affiliated with it. It would be detrimental to Dunbar numbers and divides an otherwise unified community.
I started this because I was worried about our school but the number of people who feel the exact same way is truly overwhelming. Your stories about what this neighborhood means to you are what keep me going when things feel uncertain. I am working to make sure the school board sees that we are not just a group of individuals but a community that intends to stay together.

Seeing the way this has taken off is truly humbling because I never thought we would reach this level of attention. Please know that this momentum belongs entirely to you and your commitment to protecting our neighborhood history. I am just in awe of how you have rallied together for Dunbar.

Nothing against building up our young men BUT JUST NOT BY DUNBAR HIGH! Carry that school some place else! I'm sure there is a vacant lot SOMEWHERE ELSE

All for the new school, but you should combine the middle and high school, two high schools next to each other is disrespectful to generations of Dunbar Alumni as well as the Stop 6 Community.

We wholeheartedly support your survey. We WANT to see both schools continue to thrive in their own rights. Therefore, we would like to meet with the creator(s) of this petition to work together to preserve Dunbar's rich. historic legacy and ensure YMLA's place in the FW community. Please email us soon to set up a meeting.

They shouldn't build in the community if they don't want to be in association with they community (Dunbar). Find somewhere else to go!

Dunbar Middle School has suffered tremendously since YMLA was placed in the community. We do not want Dunbar High to suffer with a move of YMLA next door. Please explore relocating YMLA to a location in the center of Fort Worth. The two campuses should stand alone.

We will need a lot of prayers to accompany this effort. The wheels in motion are many steps ahead of us , BUT it is not a done deal yet.
